The Origin Story
From Ecuador to Connecticut — A Craftsman's Journey
Mario Lahuatte was born and raised in Ecuador, where craftsmanship isn't a marketing word — it's a way of life. Growing up, he watched skilled tradesmen work with their hands, take pride in what they built, and treat every project as a reflection of their character. That ethic came with him when he immigrated to the United States.
Mario settled in Stratford, Connecticut and began his roofing career from the ground up — literally. He learned the trade on job sites across Fairfield County, working alongside experienced contractors, studying materials, and developing the eye for detail that separates a good roof from a great one.
After years of working for others and building a reputation for quality and reliability, Mario founded Lahuattini Roofing LLC. The name carries his family identity — a reminder that every project he takes on is a personal commitment, not a corporate transaction.
Today, more than 30 years later, Mario is still on the roof. He doesn't send crews ahead and check in at the end — he's the one doing the work, making the decisions, and putting his name on the result. That's not a business model. It's who he is.
Ecuadorian Heritage
A Culture That Builds Things to Last
In Ecuador, the concept of craftsmanship is deeply embedded in the culture. Artisans, builders, and tradespeople are respected not just for what they produce, but for how they produce it — with patience, precision, and pride. Mario carries that cultural inheritance into every roofing project he takes on in Connecticut.
That heritage shows up in the details: the way Mario inspects a roof before he quotes it, the care he takes with flashing and drip edge that most homeowners will never see, the refusal to cut corners even when no one would notice. It's not about impressing anyone. It's about doing the work the way it should be done.
Our Mission
One Standard. Every Roof.
"To deliver roofing work that protects Connecticut homes and businesses for decades — with the honesty, precision, and personal accountability that only a sole proprietor can provide."
That mission shapes every decision Mario makes: which materials he recommends, how he prices a job, when he tells a homeowner they need a full replacement versus a repair, and how he responds when something doesn't go as planned. It's not a mission statement on a wall. It's the operating principle of every project.
Our Values
What Guides Every Decision
Integrity
Mario gives honest assessments — even when the honest answer costs him a job. If your roof needs a repair, he'll tell you it needs a repair. He won't sell you a replacement you don't need.
Craftsmanship
Every detail matters — the ones you can see and the ones you can't. Flashing, underlayment, drip edge, ventilation: Mario treats the invisible work with the same care as the visible finish.
Reliability
Mario shows up when he says he will, communicates clearly throughout the project, and finishes what he starts. In a trade where flakiness is common, reliability is a competitive advantage.
Accountability
When you hire Lahuattini Roofing, Mario Lahuatte is personally accountable for the result. There's no corporate layer between you and the person responsible for your roof.

How Mario Works
What You Can Expect on Every Project
Thorough Inspection First
Every project begins with a detailed roof inspection — not a glance from the driveway. Mario gets on the roof, checks every component, and documents what he finds before he quotes anything.
Written Estimate — No Verbal Quotes
Every estimate is written and itemized. You know exactly what work is being done, what materials are being used, and what it costs. No surprises at the end.
Mario Does the Work
When you hire Lahuattini Roofing, Mario Lahuatte is on your roof. Not a subcontractor you've never met. The person you talked to is the person doing the work.
Clean Job Site, Every Day
Mario treats your property with respect. The job site is cleaned up at the end of every work day — no debris left in your yard, no nails in your driveway.
Final Walkthrough & Documentation
Every completed project gets a final walkthrough with the homeowner and a written record of the work performed. You have documentation for your records, your insurance, and any future sale.
